Safari Animal Baby Shower Cake

We have created many cakes for Maggie and her family.  We’ve done her husband’s 40th birthday cake, her daughter’s cakes, cookies to announce her pregnancy, etc. (Not surprisingly, we are waaaaay behind on posting all the cakes so you’ll just have to take our word for it.)  But she usually gives us specific instructions on what to do. This time, she gave a few opinions and let us run with it!

She sent us the baby shower invitations and said she’d like to incorporate the animals and colors from that.

Lilly Pulitzer Cake and Flower Bouquet Cookies

Country chic and vintage is in!  I think the only way you might have missed that is if you’ve been living under a rock.  Just teasing. But lace details, rustic elegance, shabby chic…they’re all the rage right now.

So when Chloe turned 18 (remember Chloe’s 16th birthday cake?), that’s what she wanted!  She chose a cake inspired by the Lilly Pulizer First Impression pattern.

Hadley’s Chevron First Birthday Cake

Last month, I created a cake for my birthday buddy!  Hadley was born on March 13th just like me….only 31 years later…  Anyway, we will forever be birthday buddies!

Her Mommy planned this super fun Pancakes & Pajama Party and gave me complete free reign to design the cake. The only request was that I use pink and yellow.  Hadley’s Mommy is very crafty and loves to sew so I definitely wanted to incorporate some fabric effects onto the cake.  I also happen to know that she loves chevron prints so that was a must too.

Hadley's pink and yellow cake with chevron print and a fondant dress bow.

Be sure to check out all the details of the party on the Tampa Bay Mom’s Blog.  So cute and so do-able!

Dr. Seuss Birthday Cake – Icing Smiles Tampa, FL

Kole's Dr. Seuss-themed birthday cake!    A few weeks ago, we had the honor of creating a first birthday cake for Icing Smiles.  The calls to action from Icing Smiles are few and far between so we were thrilled and immediately began designing the cake. (In case you missed our last Icing Smiles cake, check it out here.)

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Cake!

Here’s another fun party we came across while going through old cake photos.  Back in June, we created a full spread for Raigan’s 1st birthday.

Let’s start with the party cake, which was white almond cake with Bavarian Cream filling. Yum! Raigan’s Mommy, Holli, helped design the cake based on Dr. Seuss’ book Oh, the Places You’ll Go.   Raigan's 1st birthday cake - Oh the Places You'll Go!

Purple Ombre Ruffle Cake

The ombre effect is so popular in cakes right now!  The most common way to use it is with ombre ruffles, and it creates such a whimsical, girly feel.  Love it!

A couple of weeks ago, we created Aariya’s 5th birthday cake using the ombre ruffles.  Her entire birthday party was like purple overload!  The decorations were amazing!

First, here is the birthday cake:Purple ombre ruffles adorned the bottom tier of Aariya's birthday cake. It was an affair fit for a princess!

Princess Belle-Inspired Birthday Cake

Going through some old cake photos, and we just found this one!  Can’t believe we never posted it, but here is Gwenan’s 3rd birthday cake.

Princess Belle-themed birthday cake with edible tiara topper.

It was Princess Belle-inspired with baby pink, true pink, and pale yellow fondant.  We used a little bit of stripes, dots, quilting, and flowers to make this cake elegant and feminine.  And we topped the whole thing with an edible tiara airbrushed gold.
