A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of creating a wedding cake for Cristina and Jose! I have done their daughter’s birthday cake for the past 3 years. Eva’s first birthday cake was a whimsical zebra cake (so fun!). Her second was a Yo Gabba Gabba cake (so colorful!). And her 3rd was monkey and flower themed (I have yet to post this one, sorry).
Cristina always throws amazing parties for Eva so I knew the wedding would out of this world. But wait til you see it! Read on, read on!
The cake Cristina designed was covered in white fondant. The front was adorned with edible petals (individually hand-made) with a brooch center. And we added some extra sparkle with a border and sprinkling of silver dragees. Each of these dragees had to be individually applied so this was truly a labor of love.
The wedding ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Sheraton Suites Tampa Airport where the guests first came upon the very creative guest book. They were asked to “sign [their] name and leaf [their] mark.” So cute!
And then they received a wedding program…but not your typical, line-by-line, boring program. This one was eye candy! Flow charts, texts in different sizes, quotes, italics, etc.
After the ceremony, everyone entered the ballroom, which was impeccably decorated. Cristina went with a classic white wedding theme but wanted a lot of sparkle. It was just gorgeous.
And the wedding favor was a candy bar! Who doesn’t love that?!
Check out this great idea:
Cristina placed these cards on each table. Think about it. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you had photos of the first dance from all angles? Or what about the bouquet toss? Or while the photographer is off taking other important photos, someone else catches that kiss you sneak onto your groom’s cheek?
And the last thing I thought was fabulous was this little table right here:
“Kick Off Your Heels” and grab some flip flops!
Congratulations, Cristina & Jose!
