Ph.D.-serts | Eiffel Tower Cake Tutorial | Tampa Wedding Bakery

I’ve been waiting to post this cake because the tutorial for it was being published in the July 2014 ICES Newsletter.  The newsletter has just been released so I’m happy to share the cake with you now!

An engagement cake for a couple getting married in Paris.

The cake was created for an engagement party for a couple who eloped to Paris.  They wanted a romantic Eiffel Tower cake, but didn’t want to spend more on the cake than they did their trip to Paris (and we all know those 3-D carved cakes are pricey).  So we carved the cake in the shape of the Tower laying down on the board.  To enhance the cake and add to the romance factor, we covered the board with fondant and hand-painted it with petal dusts and gel colors to create a scene behind the Tower.

I can’t share the entire tutorial here (you’ll have to join ICES and get your hands on the July 2014 newsletter for that), but I can show you a few in-process photos.
