I live in a house divided. My husband is a Florida Gators Fan, and I’m a Florida State Seminoles Fan.
Well, let’s face it. I’m divided. My bachelors degree is from the Florida State University and my doctorate is from the University of Florida. Rival schools! (But, for the record, I’m a Seminole fan through and through.)
Since I began my cake decorating career in Gainesville, I have created many Gators cakes but have never had the honor of created a Seminoles cake. That is, until now…
My first Seminoles cake was for a groom in Plant City, FL! I put my heart and soul into it! The logo had to be perfect.
The logo was a giant fondant plaque sitting on top of a buttercream-iced cake. The sides were adorned with garnet fondant stripes and hand-made fondant tomahawks.
And seven days later, I created another Gators cake. This one was for a 7-year-old girl who already knows which college team she’s rooting for!
Again, the cake was iced in buttercream and the logo was a giant hand-made fondant plaque.
Happy Birthday, Mikayla! …but GO NOLES!
The Seminoles cake is amazing, Melanie! You pay such great attention to detail, nicely done! (And of course..Go Noles!) 🙂
