Cakes with a little sparkle are always fun! Here’s a cake we made for a “Fifty & Fabulous” birthday party a few weeks ago:
The cake was strawberry cake with cream cheese filling, chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling, and white almond cake with fudge filling.
It was covered with purple fondant and decorated with a darker purple Damask stencil and black ruffles. We wrapped faux diamonds around the base of the top two tiers, and we made the edible topper out of gum paste.
The edible brooch flower was hand-made as well, and we’ve actually written a tutorial on how you can make your own! The article will be printed in a future issue of the ICES Newsletter so keep an eye out for it!

These cakes are fantastic, they always look fabulous and taste even better. Oh and the cookies she makes are priceless.
