The ombre effect is so popular in cakes right now! The most common way to use it is with ombre ruffles, and it creates such a whimsical, girly feel. Love it!
A couple of weeks ago, we created Aariya’s 5th birthday cake using the ombre ruffles. Her entire birthday party was like purple overload! The decorations were amazing!
First, here is the birthday cake:
The flavors were vanilla cake with cream cheese filling and spice cake with cream cheese filling. Yum!
And here’s a close-up of the ombre ruffles on the botttom tier. 
But it was just any other cake until we delivered it and placed it at the center of the party table. If this doesn’t scream PURPLE PRINCESS PARTY, what does?!
Amazing, right?! And no event coordinator was used! This was all done by Aariya’s Mom.
There were favors, candy, cupcakes, chocolate bars, etc. I wish I was 5 years old again so I could attend this party.
